Why is The Hotel’s Lobby Such an Important Aspect of the Business?

People rarely think too much about a hotel's lobby, although it's one of the most important elements of the structure. Its design will either impress guests to make them want to return, or it will leave them cold and make them want to stay somewhere else next time.

Many hoteliers underestimate the importance of having a welcoming lobby. This blog gives three reasons why lobby interior design is important to a hotel, from the revenue aspect.

1 - It's the first impression of the hotel

Your lobby creates the hotel's initial impression, and without a doubt, it will make a lasting impression. It's up to you to figure out how to make a strong, lasting first impression.

Guests will want to leave the lobby as soon as possible if it smells bad, the furniture is old, or it feels locked off, which isn't what we desire.

2 - It establishes the mood for your guests' stay

As visitors arrive to check in or check out, the hotel lobby is a swarm of activity, with bags aplenty. Ensure that the concierge and front desk are easily available to your guests.

There should always be a concierge on hand, and the front-office staff should be polite and accommodating.

3 - It's a meeting point

Guests will not be cooped up in their rooms for their entire stay. They'll ultimately make their way out into the lobby, searching for food, beverages, socialising, charging stations, and other amenities. Families gather in the lobby, couples interact in the lobby, and so on.

If your hotel lobby isn't inviting, lacks comfortable couches and lounge chairs, and lacks charging stations, it won't be a gathering spot, and guests will be disappointed.
